Prior to forming Gold Coast Wealth Management, Brendan managed the assets of the two founding families at Sterling Stamos Capital Management (SSCM).   Whilethere he worked closely with the founding families to properly allocate their capital given specified risk parameters, liquidity restraints, and tax implications among SSCM’s fund offerings which included fixed income, long-only equities, long-short equities, absolute return, private equity, and real assets.  Before SSCM, Brendan worked at Bear Stearns & Co. on their equity derivatives desk in New York.  His responsibilities included generating trading strategies for the equity derivative’s sales desk and facilitating equity derivative trades which included listed options, over-the-counter (OTC) options, ETF’s, and single stock hedging programs with institutional clients including hedge funds, private and public investment companies, and high net worth individuals.  Brendan also worked for Goldman Sachs & Co on their equity derivatives desk prior to Bear Stearns.  Prior to that he worked for Cantor Fitzgerald on their mortgage-backed trading desk.

Brendan received an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business and obtained his BA with a double major in Economics and Sociology from Manhattan College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Currently, Brendan serves on the Board of Trustees at the Green Vale School in Old Brookville, New York. He also serves on the Northwell Health Foundation Board of Overseers (formerly North Shore – LIJ).  He enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children, and when he can sneak away, he still plays some golf and basketball.

Prior to joining Gold Coast Wealth Management, Brian spent 19 years at KCG (formerly Knight Capital).  He served as head of NASDAQ cash trading and the deputy global head of cash trading.  During his tenure at KCG, Brian managed  firm capital and inventory in domestic and international equities for short term and long term trading portfolios.  He specialized in finding value in small cap names that lacked analyst and institutional coverage.   Other responsibilities included developing and optimizing an electronic trading environment to provide world class customer service and enhanced liquidity to hundreds of broker dealer and institutional clients.  Over the course of his career, he successfully managed over 300 traders and sales traders, client relationships, and firm capital through volatile market conditions and cycles.

Brian received his MBA from the University of Florida’s Hough Graduate School of Business with a global finance specialization from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.   He obtained his B.S. with a major in Business from Skidmore College where he played college basketball.

Brian is the founder of Team Rio National (TRN).  TRN is a non-profit grassroots basketball program in partnership with the Mario V. Chalmers Foundation and I’m Possible Training. TRN has grown into a nationally recognized Under Armour sponsored program responsible for skill development, life mentoring, academic/college placement assistance, and elite competition for middle school and high school student athletes. Brian enjoys coaching his two boys and in his free time is an avid runner, tennis player and thoroughbred horse racing owner.
